Active Fires and Resources:
There were three new fires in the province yesterday, all were small in size with no problems encountered or anticipated.
There are now 160 active wildfires in the province. Of these fires, 27 are Not Under Control, 5 are Being Held, 8 are Under Control and 120 are Being Observed.
Ontario has more than 150 fire crews and access to around 120 aircraft that are in the air or ready to deploy, including 80 helicopters and waterbombers.
Personnel from Alberta, Yukon, Newfoundland and New Brunswick as well as aircraft from the federal government and Alberta are supporting our fire response.
The Restricted Fire Zone as well as MNR Implementation Orders and Evacuation Orders continue to be in effect.
The Ministry of Emergency Preparedness and Response Updates:
14 communities have evacuated to communities across the province, with two that have returned and three in progress of returning.
To date, there are currently approximately 2,583 evacuees.
312 air purifiers, 5 air scrubbers, 84 replacement filters and 5 cots have been deployed to First Nations communities to help them remain in community.
Alert Ready notifications are available if an event presents an immediate or imminent threat to life, public health, safety and security, or could result in substantial property damage.
There are currently 4 Ontario Corps Partner deployments.
