Red Tape Awareness Week 2026
January 30, 2026
Ontario is being recognized with the One to Watch award for our government’s in-house Regulatory Intelligence tool, REGi, which helps to identify and remove red tape.
This week, Ontario also earned its first A grade on the Canadian Federation of Independent Business’s Red Tape Report Card, demonstrating our government’s progress in saving taxpayers’ money and reducing costs for businesses who drive our economy.
Since 2018, our government has introduced 16 Red Tape Reduction packages, saving people and businesses $1.2 billion and 1.8 million hours every year by removing unnecessary red tape.
Under the leadership of Premier Ford, Ontario now has the lowest regulatory burden per capita in Canada, reflecting significant progress in making government services more accessible and easier to navigate.
