Province Welcomes Ontario Mine Rescue to Ontario Corps
March 13, 2026
Through Ontario Corps, our government is building a network of partners and over 3,000 skilled volunteers to provide on-the-ground assistance to communities before, during and after emergencies strike.
To ensure these volunteers have the support they need, we are leveraging the expertise and equipment of Ontario Corps partners that are ready to mobilize and deploy volunteers within 24-72 hours.
The latest partner, Ontario Mine Rescue (OMR) has a network of mine rescue stations in key Ontario locations equipped with specialized emergency equipment, available 24/7, 365 days a year, including rope rescue systems, structural collapse equipment, thermal imaging technology, breathing apparatuses, power tools and more.
OMR can provide equipment, highly trained officers and certified equipment technicians to support emergency management agencies and first responders, especially in remote areas.
The equipment, coupled with OMR’s expertise and personnel, ensures Ontario is ready to act quickly to protect communities during emergencies.
