Protecting Ontario by Keeping Criminals Behind Bars
November 25, 2025
Our government is delivering on our promise to protect Ontario by keeping dangerous and repeat offenders behind bars and off our streets.
The Keeping Criminals Behind Bars Act is the latest step in our plan to hold offenders accountable, support victims of crime and keep communities safe across Ontario.
If passed, the bold new legislation would:
Help fix the broken bail system by introducing tighter bail requirements that would hold offenders accountable and make bail real and consequential.
Respond directly to the Andrew’s Law petition with tough new measures that would remove dangerous drivers from the streets.
Explore making information in Ontario’s Sex Offender and Trafficker Registry publicly available.
Support public safety personnel and their families with expanded wellness supports, survivor scholarship funds, and new measures that protect correctional officers in the line of duty.
Under the leadership of Premier Ford, our government will continue to make record investments, so police, prosecutors, and correctional officers have the tools they need to protect Ontario and keep our communities safe.
