Ontario Welcomes $24 Million Investment in Agri-Food Manufacturing
December 2, 2025
Ontario is home to one of the largest food and beverage manufacturing sectors in North America, and 59 per cent of Canada’s soybean production. By building Canada’s first non-GMO soymilk powder processing plant, this project will use Ontario-grown soybeans to produce over 1,200 metric tonnes of soymilk powder each year.
As global demand for soybean products rises, Alinova’s investment will reinforce Ontario’s competitive advantage as a leading international supplier of soybeans and soymilk powder ingredients.
Alinova’s investment will strengthen Ontario-made exports and expand the province’s domestic processing capacity by onshoring key processing capacity from Japan, supporting our government’s plan to build the most competitive, resilient and self-reliant economy in the G7.
To support Alinova’s commitment to Ontario’s agri-food sector, Ontario is supporting this project with $1.5 million through the Regional Development Program’s Eastern Ontario Development Fund.
With economic uncertainty impacting global supply chains, Ontario continues to stand as the stable, reliable economic partner that companies and investors are looking for. Since 2019, Ontario has attracted a historic $112.7 billion in foreign direct investments and created over one million jobs.
