Ontario Supporting Local Projects to Protect the Great Lakes
Ontario is taking action to protect, conserve and restore the Great Lakes which is home to the longest freshwater coastline in the world.
This includes investing $6 million in 30 multi-year projects that will help protect the health of the Great Lakes.
The projects are run by community organizations, not-for profits, conservation authorities, universities and Indigenous communities and organizations across the province to support commitments in the
Canada-Ontario Agreement on Great Lakes Water Quality and Ecosystem Health

Funding for the Great Lakes Program is part of the Ontario government’s $14 million in annual investments to further protect, conserve and restore the health of the Great Lakes and support the well-being of communities that rely on them.
