Ontario Signs Agreements to Unlock Free Trade with Saskatchewan, Alberta and Prince Edward Island

• With President Trump taking direct aim at Canada’s economy, we need to do everything we can to protect Ontario and Canadian workers by super-charging our own internal trade opportunities.

• Under the leadership of Premier Ford, Ontario is leading the way in tearing down interprovincial trade barriers, resulting in new opportunities for job creation, economic growth, and investment attraction.

• Today’s MOU signings are the latest step our government is taking to unlock the enormous potential of true free trade across Canada, which will lower costs for families and add up to $200 billion to our national GDP.

• To further break down trade barriers, our government recently introduced the Protect Ontario Through Free Trade Within Canada Act to boost opportunities for more cross-Canada commerce and help Ontario and Canada withstand the impact of U.S. tariffs and any other challenges that may come.

• With this new legislation and a growing number of signed MOUs, we’re protecting Ontario by building a more competitive, more resilient and more self-reliant economy.
