Ontario Protecting Workers and Jobs by Investing in Postsecondary Education
- To protect Ontario workers and jobs in response to President Trump’s tariffs, our government is expanding training capacity at our world-class publicly funded colleges and universities, preparing thousands of additional students for in-demand roles in critical STEM sectors.
- We are investing $750 million to support Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs at postsecondary institutions across the province, funding up to 20,500 more seats each year.
- Our government’s investment will help institutions deliver high-quality STEM programs to prepare students for in-demand jobs in key industries such as advanced manufacturing, life sciences and technology, ensuring Ontario retains and grows its economic advantage in these sectors.
- Our government is strengthening Ontario’s homegrown, highly skilled workforce by ensuring our graduates have the training they need to thrive in economy-driving sectors, making Ontario one of the most competitive places in the G7 to invest and do business.
