Ontario Investing $2 Million to Help Young Entrepreneurs Start and Grow Businesses
August 26, 2025
- Our government is taking decisive action to protect workers, businesses, and jobs from the impact of U.S. tariffs and ongoing economic uncertainty—while building a stronger, more self-reliant economy.
- We are proud to announce an investment of $2 million to Futurpreneur Canada that will support 320 young entrepreneurs in launching new businesses across Ontario.
- Futurpreneur Canada, an Ontario-based national, not-for-profit organization, provides financing, mentoring and support tools to aspiring business owners aged 18-39 through their flagship loan program, the Startup Program.
- Since 2021, Ontario has supported Futurpreneur with $9 million in funding, helping to start and grow close to 1,200 businesses, including the disbursement of 1,035 loans, and creating close to 4,500 jobs across the province.
- Today’s investment builds on the government’s ongoing supports to help small businesses, which employ nearly 2.5 million people and make up 98 per cent of all Ontario businesses.
- Interested applicants can apply directly through Futurpreneur’s website. The process includes submitting a business plan and connecting with advisors who will guide them through the application.
