Ontario Investing $1.3 Billion to Operate and Maintain GO Transit and UP Express Service

Our government is investing $1.3 billion to extend Alstom’s contract to operate and maintain GO Transit and UP Express service through 2031.
This agreement will keep more than 1,100 Ontario workers on the job across the GTHA while delivering safe and reliable service for more than 120,000 daily riders.
We’re protecting Ontario by making sure Ontario tax dollars continue to support Ontario workers and Ontario jobs.
This extension will support continued rail operations as GO Expansion moves forward, delivering two-way, all-day service on the busiest rail corridors.
Under the leadership of Premier Ford, our government is investing nearly $70 billion to expand transit and keep people moving across the region.
