Ontario Helping More Families Access Fertility Supports
June 13, 2025
- As our government continues to protect Ontario families and the services they rely on, today’s historic announcement will triple the number of families benefitting from government-funded IVF services.
- The applications are part of our government’s plan to protect Ontario by improving public services, investing $250 million over three years to increase the number of clinics participating in the OFP, improving access to publicly funded IVF services and shortening wait lists in both hospitals and community settings.
- In addition, our new refundable Ontario Fertility Treatment tax credit builds on the existing Medical Expense Tax Credit, offering further financial relief to couples and individuals in their journeys to start or grow their family.
- The credit will provide up to $5,000 in annual support by covering 25 per cent of eligible fertility-related expenses, including IVF cycles, fertility medications, travel for treatment and diagnostic testing.
- With more clinics participating in the Ontario Fertility Program, more people and families across the province will be able to access government-funded fertility services faster, more conveniently and with more financial support.
- Through Your Health: A Plan for Connected and Convenient Care, our government is making steady progress to ensure the OFP is better equipped to meet the needs of patients and provide them with timely and high-quality fertility care where and when they need it, closer to home.
