Ontario Doubling Funding to Help Smaller Communities Build Safe and Reliable Transit

Our government is doubling funding for the Ontario Transit Investment Fund to help smaller, rural and underserved communities build safe and reliable transit.

This $30 million investment will support new bus services, on-demand rideshare and door-to-door transportation, helping more people get to work, school, medical appointments and essential services.

Eligible municipalities, Indigenous communities and non-profit organizations can apply for funding on an ongoing basis to support transit projects that address local transportation gaps.

Doubling the Ontario Transit Investment Fund is part of our plan to protect Ontario and build a stronger, more resilient and self-reliant economy by expanding transit and connecting more people to opportunity across the province.
