Ontario Doubling Fire Protection Grant to Protect More Firefighters

• Firefighters risk their lives every day to protect our homes and communities – facing dangerous conditions, hazardous chemicals, and the mental toll of high-stress situations.
• Our government always has the backs of those who protect Ontario – which is why we’re doubling this year’s Fire Protection Grant from $10 million to $20 million.
• The grant supports both new and existing municipal initiatives – including cancer prevention gear, lithium-ion battery response equipment, and infrastructure upgrades such as enhanced broadband.
• This year, the Fire Protection Grant will reach 380 municipalities and over 1,200 fire halls – funding cancer prevention measures, vital equipment purchases, and critical infrastructure upgrades.
• By doubling the Fire Protection Grant, we’re giving fire departments the tools and support they need to keep firefighters safe – because when firefighters are safe, communities are safer.
