Our upcoming Working for Workers 6 Bill will introduce legislation to crack down on fraudulent immigration representatives who exploit newcomers.
We are proposing to introduce tougher penalties including increased fines, multi-year bans and lifetime bans or violations under the Act for those who mispresent or counsel others to deceive the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) process.
These changes would also create greater accountability and transparency between immigration representatives, employers and newcomers who are applying to the program.
These reforms are yet another way we’re building a brighter future for Ontario – ensuring our province remains the best place to live, work and raise a family.
