Ontario Bringing High-Speed Internet Access to Underserved Communities
- The Ontario government is investing nearly $4 billion to help bring reliable high-speed internet access to every community across the province, marking the largest single investment in high-speed internet, in any province, by any government in Canadian history.
- In partnership with Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT), we’re investing over $34 million to bring reliable high-speed internet access to more than 3,000 underserved homes and businesses in hard-to-reach communities across southwestern Ontario.
- As of August 2024, Ontario has finalized agreements worth approximately $2.5 billion for over 270 projects, connecting over 99,000 homes and businesses, with plans to connect about 450,000 additional premises by the end of 2025.
