Ontario Begins Civil and Utility Work for Hamilton LRT

Our government has awarded a contract for the first major package of civil and utility work for the Hamilton LRT, bringing us one step closer to delivering fast, reliable and affordable transit for Hamilton.

Once complete, the Hamilton LRT will support 50,000 daily riders, connect more people to jobs and housing and put tens of thousands of jobs within walking distance of transit.

The LRT will help drive economic growth, supporting approximately 6,000 jobs annually during construction and up to 1,000 permanent jobs for operations and maintenance.
