Construction to Begin on Highway 413

August 27, 2025
  • Highway 413 is at the centre of our government’s plan to get drivers in the GTA and across Ontario out of gridlock.
  • Connecting the regions of York, Peel and Halton, Highway 413 will shorten travel times by up to 30 minutes per trip.
  • The construction of the highway will support more than 6,000 jobs per year and contribute more than $1 billion to Ontario’s annual GDP.
  • Crews will soon begin to resurface Highway 10 in preparation for a new bridge over the future Highway 413, and work will also begin on upgrades at the Highway 401/407 interchange, which will be the western terminus of Highway 413.
  • Once Highway 413 is complete, it will run from the Highway 401/407 interchange near Mississauga, Milton and Halton Hills to Highway 400 in Vaughan, with extensions to Highways 410 and 427.
  • Ontario is investing almost $30 billion over the next decade to build, repair and expand highways, roads and bridges across the province, including critical projects like Highway 413, the Bradford Bypass and the twinning of the Garden City Skyway. Last year, the Ontario government passed the Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act to accelerate the construction of Highway 413.
  • In the face of U.S. tariffs and economic uncertainty, we’re awarding critical construction contracts that will get shovels in the ground on major infrastructure projects to keep Ontario’s economy going and keep thousands of workers on the job across the province.
