• Ontario and Canada are facing unprecedented attacks on our economy, and bureaucratic policies are hindering our potential as a true energy superpower.
• Australia takes 6-7 years to open a mine, while Europe, British Columbia, and Alberta are doing it faster. The status quo is unacceptable in today’s global landscape. The Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, if passed, will:
  • Implement ‘One Project, One Process’: Consolidate all approvals into a single process, led by a dedicated project lead at the Ministry of Energy and Mines to eliminate bureaucratic delays.
  • Introduce an Integrated Permitting Plan: Streamline the approval process by reducing the number of permits required, while introducing performance metrics and binding service standards to ensure faster, more predictable project timelines.
• The Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, will cut permitting timelines by at least 50% for mining and advanced exploration projects.
• This legislation, if passed, is a key part of Ontario’s strategy to accelerate resource development, strengthen industrial supply chains, and position the province as a global leader in critical minerals and advanced manufacturing.
• While the Liberals defend the status quo, our government under Premier Ford is protecting Ontario’s economic sovereignty and delivering the minerals the world needs—mined, refined, and built right here at home.
