Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant Application Is Now Open

  • There is no place for hate in Ontario. No Ontarian should live in fear that they will be targeted because of their background, religious beliefs or who they love.
  • That is why our government is investing $25.5 million over two years in the new Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant to take immediate action to help address the rise of hate incidents against faith, Indigenous and cultural communities.
  • The grant will provide eligible faith-based, Indigenous and cultural organizations with a one-time grant of up to $10,000 to help protect their facilities from hate-motivated incidents, graffiti, vandalism and other damage, and ensure their communities have a safe environment to practice their faith or express their beliefs.
  • They can use these funds towards improving safety and security measures such as building upgrades, enhancing locks, installing cameras, training staff, completing security assessments, introducing safer cybersecurity measures, hiring professional security and making repairs.
  • Our government will continue to defend the right of every person in the province to practice their faith and express their culture and beliefs. We will continue to work with all communities to build a stronger, safer and more inclusive Ontario.
